Cub Scouts Post Delayed Harvest Signs
Joe Spitek, a Pack 1965 Cub Scout leader in Burke, and his scouts love trout fishing in Wakefield park. They reconnoitered the creek in the February 2007 snow in preparation for the planned mid-February stocking and saw only one "Delayed Harvest" sign. They asked if more could be posted so everyone can enjoy catch and release fishing until it is time to harvest the trout in June.

Joe Spitek and Pack 1965 Cub Scouts saw what needed to be done and did it; helping make Accotink Creek, as Joe puts it, "a natural oasis in Fairfax."
