Accotink Cleanup April 2006

Accotink Creek ready for stocking after thorough cleanup on April 8, 2006

On Saturday April 8, 2006, as part of a broader effort of approximately 6,000 volunteers working at over 290 sites, a contingent of volunteers from our Chapter participated in the annual Potomac Watershed Clean-up. The TU group filled more than 30 bags of trash in the delayed harvest stretch of regulated water. As happened last year, the cleanup day was a wet, soggy day surrounded by clear, dry days - a pattern that seems to be a new Accotink tradition. Many thanks to the following hardy volunteers who participated: Pat Boyd, Jim Galvin, Keith Hansen, Bill Harrison, Tom Kennedy, Peter Kuch, Lee Lohman, Mary Lohman, Dwight Meikle, Chris Milensky, Ted Smith, and Burt Weisman.
