Through the efforts of Jack Buckley, on November 11, 2006, Friends of Accotink Creek and Stonehurst Homeowners Association joined forces to clean up the Hunters Branch tributary of Accotink Creek. A mild November day cooperated with ideal weather. The volunteers removed 27 bags of trash, several tires, and odd items as diverse as a boogie board and a new computer. The computer was turned over to police as possibly stolen.
