Friends of Lake Accotink Park and Friends of Accotink Creek came together over food and beverage at the Lost Dog Cafe February 9, 2015. The talk was informal and ranged over whatever topics came to mind among those around the tables - road projects, park master plans, new friends groups, finances, stream restoration, trash traps, history hikes, elections, and on and on. One distinct topic was the challenges of environmentally-conscious enterprise. No decisions or plans laid out - just the benefit of friendly interaction. This was the first use of the new Friends of Accotink Creek Meetup account. Twice each year Friends of Lake Accotink Park and Friends of Accotink Creek come together to compare notes, stay in touch, and lend support to mutual goals. - February 10, 2015
